We began the meeting with a demonstration on how to clean coins by way of electrolysis  by Bill, very interesting. I made a set up using his instructions and it worked very well. Bill cautions to only use on coins that are common dates and that have no value to a collector, and as always be careful when working with electricity. You can see the diagram on how to make your own unit under "Pictures" on the site. As usual there were lot's of good find's this month, with a total of 13 silver coins and 75 wheat pennies steve took the "overall" category, finding a good spot and his new Whites Vision metal detector were the keys he said. Big Jack took  "jewelry" with a beautiful 14k ring, the location of the find is still a mystery. Marcos found a very nice "V" nickel at an old park in LA, to win "coin/token", and finally the "unique" category was won by Pat who found yet another "voodoo" jar buried deep in the sand at a local park, that makes a total of 3 i believe. The 50/50 drawing with a total of $27 was won by Butch, and Bill's ticket was pulled and he got the silver round for the membership drawing. We then watched a video of club members hunting at an old park, where several old coins were found, including mercury dimes, indian head pennies, "V" and buffalo nickels, and several wheat pennies. You never know what what your gonna find out there, so get out and dig some holes!
